CNET reviewed Sony VAIO FE570G :

The silver-and-black VAIO FE has a rather minimal design that's similar to that of the VAIO FS series. A few external buttons launch applications and control the volume, but the VAIO FE lacks the dedicated multimedia controls and the high-end speakers found on the Pavilion dv5000t and the Inspiron E1505. We did find, however, that the VAIO FE's speakers emit clear, if not multidimensional, sound. The keyboard and the touch pad are plenty broad, but the mouse buttons are annoyingly small.

LaptopMag reviewed Sony VAIO FE570G :

Boasting one of the brightest 15.4-inch displays we have seen and a slick light-gray-and-black design, the Sony VAIO FE Series is one of the most stylish midsize entertainment notebooks of the year. With Media Center running the show, a decent audio system, and a sharp integrated webcam, this notebook has a lot going for it. We only wish it were faster and offered more memory card slots.

Acer TravelMate 8200 Review

Friday, August 11, 2006

The TravelMate 8200 is Acer's flagship commercial notebook, blending timeless colors with innovative materials and textures. Embodying the extreme in mobile computing, it is powered by Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology and featuring next-generation GDDR3 memory, along with a 15.4-inch widescreen display and integrated security solutions.

The Acer TravelMate 8200 includes all the new and high-end features you could want in a notebook and earned the prestigous PC Magazine Editors Choice Award in January 2006. Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology delivers superb dual-core mobile performance, allowing you to easily run demanding applications simultaneously. Supercharged ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics turn this notebook into a mobile entertainment system and make the most of the wide-screen 15.4" WSXGA+ display. You also get the Acer OrbiCam, an 1.3-megapixel adjustable webcam built into the black carbon-fiber chassis.

CNET reviewed Acer TravelMate 8200 :

The Acer TravelMate 8200 is one of the first Intel Core Duo laptops out of the gate. In addition to its bleeding-edge Core Duo processor, the midsize portable features a great case design and top-of-the-line components, such as a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics chip, a mammoth 120GB hard drive, and a double-layer DVD burner. Though this sweet system delivers on the Core Duo's promise of extremely fast multimedia performance, its performance gain was less pronounced on our productivity benchmarks, making its $2,499 price too expensive for users who just want fast performance for office work.

LaptopMag reviews Acer TravelMate 8200 :

Acer crams two of the most powerful notebook components you can get inside the 6.6-pound, sleek TravelMate 8200: Intel’s Core Duo processor and ATI’s Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card. Add in a top-notch webcam and you have one of the best mainstream laptops for power users, as long as you have the cash.
